Palabras claves: Teoría de la mente – Primer orden – Segundo orden - Conductas Pprosociales – Ayuda instrumental – Cooperación./ABSTRACT:This research aims to generate a model to predict prosocial behavior in children through the theory of mind (ToM) of first and second order. A total of 25 children aged between 3 and 7 years old, were evaluated through tasks to measure ToM skills, as well as trials evaluating prosocial behaviors, whether they are of instrumental help or cooperation. To evaluate theory of mind, depending on the age of the child, a verbal and/or nonverbal version of the test, covering the explicit and implicit function of the ToM was used. The results of this study allowed us to establish a model where the first order of ToM predicts the behavior of instrumental help, while the second order of ToM predicts the behavior of cooperative play over a period of interruption. This is consistent with some of the assumptions made in this investigation, where was expected to find such relationships according to the level of meta-representational and cognitive complexity of the variables involved. Keywords: Theory of mind – First order – Second order - Prosocial behaviors - Instrumental help – Cooperation.
