The tomato is the main cultivated vegetable in this countr, it is freshly eaten and also as raw material in agribusiness. As a species, this cultivation is affected by many diseases caused by bacteria, fungi and viruses, which constitute an obstacle for the yield and the final quality of the production. Among the most important diseases we can mention the ones that are associated with fruit rot, whose causal agents can be fungi from Colletotrichum sp. or Alternaria alternata genre In a study carried on last season in a agribusiness tomato, the fungicide with active ingredient Boscalid, showed the lowest incidence of fruit rots associated with Alternaria alternata. Hence the importance of re-evaluate it in a second season in a commercial plantation. According to the previous point, we evaluated the effectiveness of the use of Boscalid in controlling fruit rots caused by Alternaria alternata and Colletotrichum sp.in agribusiness tomato. The study was carried on in a commercial plantation located in the area of Bramaderos, San Clemente, Talca Province, in the month of January 2010. The treatments were arranged in a randomized block design with four repetitions,in these ones a witness is included, without application of any product from the sixth application. Each experimental unit was consisted by 50 plants. 48 and 96 hours after the sixth application it proceeded to inoculate the plants of each treatment with a conidia suspension of A. alternata, in order to ensure the presence of at least one of the causative agents of rotting of fruits. At harvest time it was measured the incidence for both A. alternata and Colletotrichum sp., The results were subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA),From the results gained it can be noted that the active ingredient fungicide boscalid, appears as a good alternative to control fruit diseases associated with fungi A. alternata and Colletotrichum sp. For A. Alternata, the treatmentsapplied did not show statistically significant differences, with exception for the witness, who had a higher incidence. For Colletotrichum sp. treatments 1 (Program Company) and 2 (Programme more Boscalid company) were the most efficient, although there was no statistically significant differences between them.
