Relación entre carga mental percibida y satisfacción laboral en empresas de retail de la ciudad de Talca

Abstract

El objetivo del presente estudio es determinar si existe o no relación entre las variables satisfacción laboral y carga mental en trabajadores de dos empresas de retail de la Ciudad de Talca. La relevancia de esta investigación reside en entregar una caracterización del comportamiento de la variable carga mental en el trabajo, la que según la bibliografía, no ha sido investigada en profundidad en Chile; de esta manera se busca aportar conocimientos respecto a si objetivamente estas variables tienen algún tipo de relación, sugiriendo líneas de acción a seguir en concordancia con los resultados de la presente investigación. Además, se pretende comparar a ambas empresas en cuanto a la relación satisfacción laboral-carga mental, la misma comparación se realizará en base a la variable años de servicio, ya que esta última, según la teoría, influiría en la percepción de carga mental. La pregunta de investigación a responder es ¿existe relación significativa entre carga mental percibida y satisfacción laboral en trabajadores de empresas de retail de la ciudad de Talca? El diseño de la investigación es transversal correlacional, utilizándose para la recopilación de información técnicas cualitativas y cuantitativas. La muestra estuvo compuesta de 142 trabajadores de distintas áreas de las empresas investigadas. Los resultados indican la inexistencia de una correlación significativa entre carga mental y satisfacción laboral, pero sí entre algunas dimensiones de cada variable. Además, se encontraron diferencias significativas entre ambas empresas respecto a los niveles de satisfacción laboral, no ocurrió lo mismo según los años de servicio y la relación con las variables carga mental y satisfacción laboral. Palabras claves: carga mental, satisfacción laboral, retail./ ABSTRACT: The objective of this following study is to determine if there is a relation between job satisfaction and mental task load variables in workers of two retail companies in the city of Talca. The relevance of this research is giving a characterization of the behavior in the variable mental task load on working, which according to the bibliography, it has not been studied deeply in Chile. In this way, what is sought is to present knowledge in relation to the fact if objectively this variables have some kind of relation, suggesting action lines to follow in concordance with the results of the following research. In the same way, it is pretended to compare both companies in the relation job satisfaction - mental task load, the same comparison will be made basing on the service years variable, because according to the theory, this one would have influence on the perception of mental charge. The question of the investigation drift in: does a significant relation between mental charge perceived and work satisfaction in workers from two retail companies of the city of Talca exist? The design of the investigation is transversal correlational, using for the collection of information qualitative techniques and quantitative ones. The sample was composed by 142 workers from different areas of the companies previously named. The results shows the absence of a significant correlation between mental task load and any of the dimensions in the job’s satisfaction, also, some significant differences between both companies were found respect to the levels of job satisfaction, this did not ocurre with the service years in relation to the job satisfaction and mental task load variables.
